Lovin Season

Apparently last spring was a very  lovin’ season because there were a LOT of babies born in December! It seems that about the time I got rested up from one birth and made sure the new mom and baby were a happily nursing pair, another baby was on the way.  : )  All that birthin’ work is sure one way to warm up the holidays!

I’m looking forward to getting this blog up and running so I can interact with all the preggies and mommies in the blogosphere.  I’ve been spending a massive quite a bit of time communicating with my pregnant friends and new moms via email, so I decided it was time to move into the fast lane and spread the love. : )

I could use some help with something, though…. What is a good word I can use to describe new moms?  My expectant moms call themselves preggies, but would we call a postpartum mom a… postie?  That sounds a bit too much like pastie, and that brings up images of the gal in Designing Women who had the talent that Suzanne Sugarbaker admired so much.  : )  But I digress….

Anyway, if any of you can come up with a nickname I can use to refer to my postpartum moms, I would really appreciate it!   I’d like to have some kind of giveaway and make this a little contest….  Maybe in the future!

Okay, I hope to hear some suggestions!

Blessings!

Thanks, Tiffany! : ) What a brilliant idea–“newbies!” And I already have a newborn class called “newbies,” so that would be a good fit for postpartum “new” moms. : )

Oh, Julie! Your site is AWESOME! I can hardly wait for your next post.

I will try to think of a fun name for new mommies.

Thanks, Amy! What a surprise! I’m glad you like my site. I’m still getting my content ready to post and hope to have JuJuBabies really up and going by the end of this month. Let me know if you think of a good name for postpartum moms. My friend, who is a mom to 7, told me that she liked “posties.” Ha! Feel free to let your friends know I’m out here and would love to answer questions or bounce some ideas around. There is always something happening in the world of moms and moms-to-be.
      Love, Julie
