Hi! Thanks for checking my site. As a childbirth instructor, I think it’s important for every pregnant woman to have a good understanding of the normal process of labor and birth, as well as variations of normal labor. Babies aren’t reading L & D textbooks these days, so things don’t always go according to the books! Learning to identify normal variations will help you know when something is abnormal and intervention is called for.
In the articles under Labor & Birth, I’ll talk about how normal labor progresses and also give you explanations, illustrations and tips to help you or your partner relieve labor pain, adjust your baby’s position and prepare for birth. I’ll provide you with information on medication options, and I’ll also do my best to explain any confusing terms your nurse or doctor may use. As always, if you have a question, please go to Contact Julie and email me. I’ll try to respond as soon as possible.
Always remember that my information and advice is not a substitute for professional medical counsel. I’m not a doctor and I don’t play one on the web. Thanks!
